Choro Ink

I work with homemade ink as well as pigment and dye ink. My homemade ink is a combination of unique elements- dirt, stone, leaf, nut,  flower, essential oil, feather, ancient seed- whatever is calling to me. Over a series of days I combine these elements and make the ink with a specific intention in mind. Accessing the ancient wisdom of these elements, the transmission from nature onto paper is profound and alive. The entire universe is in every drop of ink and in every line.

Choro Ink

Inkberry

My first exploration with making ink in 2023, the inkberries used to make this ink are from Connecticut and were foraged by a dear friend. This rich ink has been used in pieces made for Upaya Zen Center.
